Easter Egg Hunts....Tradition!

We always have an Easter Egg Hunt/Spring Birthday Bash on the Peterson side of the family and a big wild East Egg Hunt in Grandma Olsen's big yard on the Olsen side of the family. I love family traditions. It is fun to see how the kids have grown up. So many of them have families of their own now!

Ryker loves finding eggs....We had to hunt eggs inside Cheryl's house. It was very cold!

Melissa and Ryker at Grandma Olsen's house. It was much warmer...

East Egg Hunting can be an extreme sport at Grandma Olsen's House.

Snowmobiling in the Spring!

We spent the weekend up at our cabin snowmobiling. Snowmobiling into the cabin on Friday evening was so beautiful. The sunset was awesome (but my camera wouldn't take picture, it said it was too cold). Saturday was sunny, the snow deep and the snowmobiling was awesome!

Brett and I are very cool snowmobilers....It is pretty fun to go without the kids...It is a lot less work!

This is me on my snowmobile. My husband bought this one for me for Mother's day (supposedly). He really just wanted to have another cool mountain machine...so I chose a nice bright yellow and named it sunshine (and added a really cute sticker).

Tracy and I were learning how to jump on our snowmobiles. I tried about 20 times and finally was brave enough to get some air. Brett said my jump was okay, but he was better. I told him to prove it....He tried, but went way too fast and ended up crashing on his face....Boys will always be boys!

Snow Angels...My sister and I always make snow angels...I have made them in lots of cool place (check out Two Tops up by Yellowstone!!)

The sun was awesome - I needed a suntan! It all works!

Sometimes you can go ice climbing in a deep, deep hole!!

Bottom Line....snowmobiling makes all this snow we are having now much easier to take!

More and More Basketball!

It seems like we go to a lot of basketball games. Andrew has had two a week since October! It has been really fun. The boys have won most of their games and a couple of championships. Brett loves to coach and the boys have a blast being sports buddies!

They won t-shirts for the Weber County Championship.

New Uniforms!

There are still 8 more weeks of only one games a week...but then baseball starts!

Last Child Party!

Andrew had to enter the science fair a few weeks ago. We did a great project on plants and he was pretty happy with the results. The big news is that when the Science Fair was over, I came to the astounding realization that IT WAS THE LAST ONE!!! No more 5th grade science fairs! I was doing the happy dance all over the school. This truly gives away what a fabulous mother I am!

Last night, was Andrew's 5th Grade Patriotic Program. It was very nicely done and the kids are still young enough to be cute. I then realized that another last child thing was over! I was a little sad about it being the last singing program, but then I thought no more making costumes (although I did cheat on this one and had Andrew wear the same costume Jordan wore in 5th grade), no more practices and no more sitting in the hot school! I guess I still have the 6th grade stuff to go, but not programs!

The good news is that I can go to see the grandchildren's things when I feel nostalgic, but I won't have to actually "do" them!

Short Weekends!

Well, another weekend just flew by! Friday night I worked at the high school basketball game (taking tickets not coaching!). Saturday, Andrew's b-ball team played in a tournament. They had three games and then later in the evening they had another game in their regular league. They won the tournament and their game, so it was all good. Andrew was so tired he slept until noon on Sunday!

Sunday evening we went to a party for our niece and nephew. They are going to Australia for three years for an educational opportunity. We sure will miss you Jeniece and Leif!

Great Book!

I just finished reading "The Book Thief". My friend Janette recommended it (thanks!!) It was very different. The story teller in the book was death. Anyway, read it! It is a story about a young girl in Nazi Germany. I am trying to get Matt and Jordan to read it. I sent it with Jordan to school today. We will see!
